About Nathaniel

I am Nathaniel Dadeowo, a passionate mental health advocate, Emotional Intelligence Therapist, community leader and Founder of Men’s Cave CIC. Since 2018, I have dedicated myself to helping men understand their emotions, overcome personal challenges and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. Originally from Nigeria and now based in the West Midlands, I combine my background in psychology, counselling, emotional intelligence and health and social care with a deep commitment to community development. What drives me is a simple but powerful belief: no man should suffer in silence simply because society expects him to be strong. I am particularly passionate about the emotional struggles of African immigrant men navigating loneliness, financial pressures, relationships, fatherhood and the challenges of rebuilding their lives abroad. I am known for bringing people together, creating safe spaces for honest conversations and turning compassion into meaningful action. Through Men’s Cave, I have helped build a growing community of over 5,000 men across our platforms, promoting friendship, belonging and emotional wellbeing. Beyond my professional work, I am a husband, father and firm believer in the power of community to transform lives. My greatest motivation is knowing that one conversation, one friendship or one act of kindness could change the direction of someone’s life.

About Men's Cave CIC

Men’s Cave CIC is dedicated to improving men’s mental health, emotional wellbeing, personal development and social connections, with a particular focus on African immigrant men living in the UK. We exist to challenge the culture of silent suffering among men and create safe, supportive environments where men can speak openly, build meaningful friendships, access support and thrive. Through monthly community hangouts across UK cities, annual camping retreats, mental health awareness campaigns, educational webinars, sporting activities, mentorship and our SpeakUpMan initiative, we tackle loneliness, depression, social isolation and the everyday pressures men face. Our work extends beyond mental health to address relationships, fatherhood, financial wellbeing, career development, entrepreneurship and the challenges of settling into a new country. What makes Men’s Cave different is our approach to men’s wellbeing. We recognise that not every man will walk into a counselling room or openly admit he is struggling, but he might attend a football match, join a games night, share a meal or participate in a weekend retreat. We use these everyday experiences to build trust, encourage conversations and create pathways to emotional support. With a growing community of over 5,000 men across our platforms, Men’s Cave is building more than a support network; we are creating a brotherhood where men feel seen, heard and valued.

About Nathaniel's team

Behind Men’s Cave CIC is a passionate and committed leadership team who share a common vision: to create a world where men feel supported, valued, emotionally empowered and never have to face life’s challenges alone. The organisation is led by Nathaniel Dadeowo, Founder and Convener, alongside Ademola Odumesi, Co-Convener, and Olawale Atekoja, Director. Together, this three-man leadership team brings dedication, diverse experiences, strategic thinking and a shared commitment to transforming men’s lives and strengthening communities. Our leadership team is further supported by a five-member Advisory Board, providing guidance, accountability, fresh perspectives and strategic support to help the organisation achieve its long-term vision. What makes this team remarkable is our shared belief that meaningful community impact does not always begin with enormous financial resources, but with genuine compassion, consistency and the willingness to show up for others. Together, we have helped grow Men’s Cave into a community of over 5,000 men across our platforms, creating opportunities for connection, emotional support, personal growth and meaningful conversations through community outreach, retreats, awareness campaigns and educational programmes. Beyond organising events, our team is committed to building a sustainable movement that challenges the stigma surrounding men’s mental health, reduces social isolation and empowers men to become healthier individuals in all spheres.

The journey

My journey began in Nigeria since 2018, driven by a passion for emotional intelligence, men’s mental health and challenging the culture of silent suffering. Working with men, I discovered that behind many confident faces were hidden struggles involving relationships, finances, family responsibilities and emotional wellbeing. I wanted to create a world where men could express vulnerability without being judged. Relocating to the United Kingdom gave that mission a deeper meaning. I witnessed the realities of African immigrant men who had left behind successful careers, families and familiar communities in pursuit of better opportunities. Many were rebuilding their lives while navigating loneliness, demanding work schedules, immigration uncertainties, financial pressures and the expectations of loved ones back home. My defining realisation was that a man could be surrounded by people, employed and financially responsible, yet have nobody he could genuinely call a friend. Some men were not necessarily looking for therapy; they simply needed somewhere to belong, someone to listen and a reason to smile again. That understanding inspired me to establish Men’s Cave UK in 2024. Starting with limited resources, personal sacrifices and an unwavering belief in the vision, I began bringing men together through social hangouts, sporting activities and meaningful conversations. What started as a simple idea has grown into a registered Community Interest Company connecting over 5,000 men across our platforms. Today, supported by a dedicated leadership team and advisory board, we organise community outreach, residential retreats, mental health campaigns and educational programmes that help men build friendships, develop emotionally and navigate life’s challenges. My vision is to positively impact one million men by 2050. My greatest achievement is not building an organisation; it is helping create a brotherhood where men feel seen, heard and valued.

Why your vote matters

Your vote is more than a tick beside my name. It is a powerful statement that men’s mental health matters, that no man deserves to suffer in silence, and that the quiet work of building stronger communities deserves to be recognised. When you vote for me, you are not simply celebrating an individual. You are recognising the dedication of our leadership team, advisory board, volunteers and the thousands of men who make Men’s Cave a growing brotherhood of hope, connection and belonging. Since 2018, my mission has been to give men a voice, and through Men’s Cave, we are turning that passion into meaningful community impact. Every gathering, conversation and friendship reminds us why this work matters. Your vote would encourage our team to keep showing up, reaching more men, breaking barriers and building a future where seeking support is seen as strength, not weakness. Most importantly, your vote tells every man struggling quietly that his story matters and that he has not been forgotten. Vote for me, but beyond my name, vote for the mission. Vote for the men we serve, the families we strengthen and the lives we hope to change. Together, we can ensure no man walks alone.
